Sorry for the late posting this month. But never fear, I am back with a magical desktop wallpaper treat! April is truly the month of magic with the blooming colours everywhere from the flowers to the secret myth of garden fairies. Oh and the weather in Birmingham has started to slowly brighten up too. Back to this month’s desktop wallpaper. We are celebrating the birthday of the original fairy tale “godfather” and I am so excited because I love fairy tales!

This man has written over 30 classic magical tales, from “The Little Mermaid” to “The Ugly Duckling”. His books have taught millions of readers, that even if you are facing adversity you can still make it. A little resilience can take you far in life. Have you guessed the author yet? No, it is a hard one this month. But if you take a peek at the image above you’ll find the answer. Yes, it’s Hans Christian Anderson! April the 2nd is Han’s Birthday.

A tale by Hans Christian Anderson that I love is Thumbelina or Little Tiny. The idea of a little girl growing in a flower pot and eventually marrying a fairy prince is the most magical of all. After a little google search on Hans, I found this amazing quote on goodreads to summarise Han’s magical fairytales:

“Just living is not enough… one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower.” – Hans Christian Anderson

This quote is so true. When you think about it, people don’t just survive or live for the sake of living. In general people search for love, happiness and freedom. If you are just living, eventually you will get sick and tired of not having other things to excite you or even challenge you. So follow the teachings of Hans and do more than just live! Maybe give back to the community, make a new friend or even start blogging to help others!
